 The KharkivNational Medical University is Ukraine's oldest educational institution with a history that spans more than 200 years. This institution, which was originally known as the Kharkiv Medical Institute in 1805, is still the most desired for MBBS in Ukraine. Its multidisciplinary approach and scientific and logistic base make it the most sought-after.

It has been ranked by Osvita.ua as one of three top medical schools of higher education for MBBS in Ukraine. A diploma from the Ukraine Kharkiv National Medical University is also available. It is recognized in most countries around the globe.

All countries recognize the education and degree provided by Kharkiv National Medical University. The university is accredited by WHO and the General Medical Council. Since two hundred years, the university has trained high-quality specialists and true professionals. The history of Kharkiv National Medical University is a proud one. It aims to develop medical science and practice health care. The university emphasizes practical and theoretical knowledge, so students have the opportunity to experience both.

The Medical Faculty of Kharkiv University was merged with the Women's Medical Institute in 1920. Kharkiv Medical Academy was established one year later. There were many outstanding scientists and pedagogues among its teachers; some streets in Kharkiv were named for them. These are physiologist DanilevskyV.Ya, surgeon Trinkler N.P., anatomist Vorobyov V.P., ophthalmologist Girschman L.L., therapeutistFrankovsky V.A.

Lecturers at KhNMU helped to establish many research institutes, hospitals, and clinics. These include the Institute of General and Emergency Surgery and the Malaya Institute of Therapy. These institutions were the foundation for our University Departments' scientific and medical work in these areas.

The University began training foreign students in 1951. The University has now trained over 3,600 specialists from different countries.

By a Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decision, Kharkiv Medical Institute was established as the foundation for Kharkiv State Medical University. The latter has been accredited and is the 4th highest category. Our University was awarded National status in 2007.
