TARAS SHEVCHENKO NATIONAL UNIVERSITY of KIEV
The Taras Shevchenko National
University of Kyiv was one of the three top
universities in the USSR. It is Ukraine's third-oldest university and one
of the top Universities in Ukraine. The University is located in Kyiv,
Ukraine's capital. It is one of the top 550 universities
worldwide. More than 26 000 students attend the university. The
University currently has 935 international students.
Kyiv Medical, established in
1992, is one of the most prestigious Medical Universities in
Ukraine. Although the University's medical stream is relatively new, it
prides itself on establishing a clinical and teaching base, as well as the
latest technology. Honored doctors from Ukraine and well-respected
scholars with Ph.D., Masters, etc. make up the distinguished faculty of the
University.
The University offers students
the necessary skills, knowledge, and practical exposure needed to meet the needs
of the healthcare industry. KMU offers a balanced curriculum that meets
the requirements of the Ministry of Health and Education of Ukraine. Students also
have industry exposure through internships offshore.
The university has 13 faculties
Economics, History, Geography
Cybernetics., Sociology. Radio Physics. Mathematics and Mechanics Electronics
and Computer Systems., Physics Psychology. Law.Philosophy.
Chemistry. There are two Colleges: the Optic and Mechanical College and
Geological Exploring College. 1 Training and Research Center (the Institute of
Biology) and 8 Institutes (the Military Academy and the High Technology Centre,
Institute of Journalism, Institute of Geology, Institute of International
Relations and the Postgraduate Education Centre, Institute of Linguistics and
the State Security Department).

A Geological and
Zoological Museum, an Astronomical Observatory, Ukrainian Studies Centre, and
the maksymowych Academic Library are some of the facilities. An Informatics
Centre, a Museum of the University History, and an Interfaculty Museum of
Linguistics is also available.
The campus provides
comfortable student accommodation. The
campus also offers cafeterias as well as computer clubs, dance halls, and other
sports facilities.
